Lock Lock salt spray test TWITTER SIZE

In ongoing corrosion tests for EN 1906:2012, Lock Lock, the new high security handle from Brisant, has been subjected to salt spray for more than 2,000 hours at the time of writing. There’s no sign of pitting: the polished chrome handle looks as good as it did when it went in, over 9 weeks ago. This is more than eight times the minimum of 240 hours required to achieve EN 1906:2012, – and the highest corrosion grade the standard measures.

“We’re now in the area normally reserved for stainless steel offerings,” comments Nick Dutton, CEO of Brisant Secure. “With its patented, unique spindle block, security was always the main selling point for Lock Lock since its introduction to the market at the FIT show. With the block activated, Lock Lock easily passed the TS 007 2* security test on its first attempt. And it achieved the highest Grade 7 for durability in EN 1906, still opening and closing the door after 200,000 opening cycles. But its ongoing performance in the salt spray test means its corrosion resistance is fast becoming the bigger story!”

Lock Lock handle is designed (with registered rights) with a seamless curve so there are no corners or edges – traditional weak points where corrosion and pitting starts. And each polished handle is coated twice with copper and then twice with nickel, so even the most susceptible polished gold and chrome finishes are designed to last.
